Coronavirus (COVID-19) Precautions at HIP
Effective March 16, HIP is no longer conducting face-to-face meetings, but is instead serving clients and partners through remote access by either telephone, email or video conferencing. The well-being, health and safety of HIP's multifamily residents, counseling clients, visitors and staff is always our top priority. Therefore, HIP has implemented these precautions to minimize the risk of introducing COVID-19 into our offices and communities.
Purple Line Corridor Coalition Releases Housing Action Plan
The Purple Line Corridor Coalition released its report urging Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties to double their housing investment funds to ensure there are affordable housing options for existing and future residents who will live near the 16-mile Purple Line light rail development.
HIP Celebrates 30th Anniversary; Salutes 2019 “Affordable Housing Champions”
HIP celebrated 30 years of revitalizing neighborhoods on Thursday, November 14, 2019 with 150 friends, supporters, donors, volunteers and former clients. The 30th Anniversary Networking Reception, held at the College Park Aviation Museum, featured a ceremony honoring Mosi Harrington, HIP's Founder and retired Executive Director, and 10 extraordinary professionals for their commitment to providing access to affordable housing for low- and moderate-income Marylanders.
HIP Releases Its New 30-Year Report
HIP's new 30-Year Report showcases the nonprofit's origin and history, from its founding in 1988 by Mosi Harrington, a homeless advocate, who recruited a small but vocal group of social workers, and formally incorporated in June 1989. The Report chronicles 30 years of revitalizing neighborhoods, including present day real estate development activity, and housing and financial counseling outreach.
