Meet the Team

Jenn Garcia-Herrera is the Administrative Assistant for Housing Initiative Partnership’s Community Schools Rental Assistance Program (CSRAP).

She joined HIP in October 2026, and is the primary point of contact for applicants, responding to inquiries, helping families navigate the application process, reviewing applications for completeness, and supporting program data management and reporting.

Community Schools Rental Assistance Program (CSRAP)

The CSRAP operates in eight local jurisdictions across the State of Maryland. Families and students who are enrolled in designated Community Schools in these jurisdictions while experiencing homelessness or at risk for housing instability can apply for emergency financial support through the CSRAP program during periods when the application window is open and has available funding. Housing Initiative Partnership, Inc. (HIP) is the nonprofit counseling agency chosen to administer the CSRAP in partnership with the Department of Housing & Community Development and community schools in Prince George’s County and Montgomery County.

Jenn brings experience in community outreach, program coordination, and data management, most recently serving as a Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps Member with Rock Creek Conservancy. She has also worked with The Nature Conservancy on environmental conservation projects in Virginia and Georgia.

Jenn earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, majoring in Environmental Science and Policy with a minor in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). In her free time she loves hiking.
